Snowdonia parking app

The Snowdonia National Park Authority and Transport for Wales have teamed up with Smart Parking to provide a state-of-the-art parking technology management system.

A free app shows in real time how many vacant places are available in some of the most popular car parks around the foothills of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), at Ogwen, and further afield, such as at Beddgelert and Betws-y-coed.

As far as Snowdon’s immediate car parks are concerned, at present only the car parks at Nant Peris (the Park & Ride car park) and Rhyd Ddu are represented. However, the car parks at Beddgelert and Betws-y-coed link with Snowdon via the Sherpa buses.

Called Parcio Eryri – Parking Snowdonia, the app helps you find available parking in the area (though not all of the Authority’s car parks are currently featured). Using real-time data and sensors, it will direct you to the most convenient parking around the most popular areas of the Park.

To find available parking, open the app to reveal the map. The coloured icons (red, green, and amber) indicate the number of car parks which are available.

Tapping a map icon will give you more information about the parking arrangements in that area. This includes hours of operation, time limits, parking fees and other restrictions, if applicable.
